Hey everyone. Another Lush review for you today! I wanted to get these up quickly before Valentines Day was actually over!
This was one of the things I was most excited for, because as a sufferer of very dry skin, I find Lush massage bars perfect for sorting out the dryness on my legs and arms. In fact I don't think I have ever had a massage with a Lush massage bar (I should be so lucky!), but regardless, just a thing to bare in mind for all those that think you need a partner to use these!
Tender is the Night is a small heart shaped bar, perfect for Valentines Day, with a gooey pink centre. This pink middle is actually a world first for massage bars, as the middle crushes up into a light shea butter and murmuru butter centre to reveal a fondant core.
The massage bar itself is VERY melty. In the shop I had literally only picked it up for it to be slipping out of my hand. It literally melts on touch and only takes a slight swipe over the body to get the desired product. For me as a moisturiser, I found this didn't last very long - only about 5 times was I able to use it to moisturise my whole body. But it did a fabulous job, keeping my skin soft and moisturised for days. You could really feel and see the difference more so than a normal lotion moisturiser. While massage bars are greasier and take a lot longer to absorb into the skin, I find the benefits definitely outweigh that! I find the best way to use these is before bed or around the evening time before sticking on some long PJ pants and getting on with your evening, letting it soak in overnight. Its definitely worth looking into if you do have dry skin.
The smell is lovely. Its relaxing with Jasmine and Ylang Ylang with the main note being Jasmine.
My only problem again lies with the price. I don't know whether its the spending ban is making me think about money differently, but £4.50 for a bar which I only used 4-5 times. To me that is a little steep. While massage bars especially from Lush do tend to be more expensive because of the ingredients in them - I only got 4-5 uses out of Tender is the Night working out at £1 for every time I moisturised. While it did a good job that lotions sometimes can't... I can't help but grimace a lil bit.
Overall its definitely worth a try, I'm happy I tried it and its something a little special for the Valentines period, especially if you have a special someone to give you a massage (getting one out of my other half is pretty much impossible! I hope you have more luck than me!) Tender is the Night is available from your local Lush store or online here. It costs £4.50 and is limited edition, so try it while you can!

This sounds really good but I agree the price to use ratio is a bit dodgy, I hinted like hell at my boyfriend for this and there's a lush delivery box in his room... x
ReplyDeleteOoooh you might have got it for V-day ;) Let me know what you think if you have!
DeleteI have really dry skin and using something like this may ease it up a bit, however, like you said the price for what you get isn't really too good! Thanks for the review!

Thanks Megan, I totally agree, the price is the only thing that puts me off!
DeleteI don't think £4.50 is so bad when you compare it to the price of their one go bath bombs? But I know what you mean... it sounds amazing though, so I would love to try it! I love the idea of the melting centre xx

You are right, the price of one bath VS this isn't so bad. Its definitely worth a try even for the price tag :)
DeleteI really want to try one of these! My skin is really dry at the moment so think this would be perfect for that :) Plus I love anything heart shaped!

I'd definitely recommend! I can recommend a whole load of other Lush skincare items for dry skin if you'd like! Mine is terrible but thankfully I have got it under control now :)
DeleteThis looks adorable, and sounds so soothing, but I agree with you that it's a little steep for what it is xx
ReplyDeleteIt is super cute and really nice to use, just the price!
DeleteWow, this looks and sounds like a lovely massage bar, but not the best that it only lasts for a few uses! I really like Lush's Therapy massage bar- I always found it to be quite long-lasting! :)

Therapy is one I haven't tried! I think i'll look into it after my ban :)
DeleteHad my eyes on this. But the spending ban is in the way :(

Aww Kate :( That sucks!
DeleteIt's so lovely looking but to be honest I find quite a lot of LUSH products overpriced for what they are/how long they last. Still, irresistible with the pink centre...it looks like strawberry filled chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI am realising this more and more Holly. I think being on the spending ban and keeping track of money has been a real eye opener especially when it comes to Lush!
DeleteI love lush products! You should try their Soft Couer butter, it's so luxurious ^^ love your blog xx

OOO Soft Couer is a fav of mine, the smell!! Mmmmm its so good! I think I prefer SC to this actually, it does a better job of moisturising and lasts longer!
DeleteI use Lush massage bars as moisturisers too. I really like how the bars melt and you can just rub in the excess...job done! But £4.50 is expensive, especially as the bar does just melt in your hands. I guess it's okay if you're treating yourself. I really want one before they're sold out! :/ Nice blog, thanks for the review

Thanks Lexiaa :) They are really nice and keep me moisturised but I need to find a lotion that does the same thing that is more purse friendly :)
